Song Zhiping

Introduction

One of the founding professors of Xinrui Business School, Professor Song Zhiping, Ph.D. in Engineering Management, currently acts as Chairman of the China Association For Public Companies (CAPCO). In addition, he chairs the China Enterprise Reform Development Society, is the founding chairman of the World Cement Association,a member of the MBA Degrees National Graduate Education Advisory Committee.

Song Zhiping has been committed to the development of Chinas building materials industry,once served as chairman of China National Building Material Co., Ltd. As the national model worker, he once served as the representative of the 15th18th National Congress of the Party. He has won the "Golden Ball Award for Outstanding Entrepreneurs in China", “the Commemorative Medal for the 30th Anniversary of ReformOpening Up”, "Yuan Baohua Gold Award for Corporate Management", "China Economic Person of the Year", "Global Chinese Economic Leader", "Fortune CEO Lifetime Achievement Award”, etc..

Professor Song is an outstanding entrepreneur striving along with Chinas reformopening up. He has been fighting at the forefront of state-owned enterprise reform for 40 years,has a lot of practical reform experience, known as the “paving stone for SOE reform". He has served as chairman of both China National Building Material Company China National Pharmaceutical Groupled both companiesthe Fortune 500 companies. He initiated successfully implemented "Central SOE Marketing", "Integration Optimization", "Matrix Management", "Eight Methods", "Six-Star Enterprises"other reform innovation models, which have been praised as "Song Zhiping Model" by the business community. He successively promoted the reorganization of 8 central SOEs merged nearly a thousand private enterprises,creatively proposed the formula of "strength of central SOEs + vitality of private enterprises = competitiveness of enterprises", so he was recognized as the forerunner of Chinas mixed-ownership reform. The practice experience of large-scale reorganization integration in the cement field led him to win the first prize of national-level enterprise management modernization innovation achievements, which has also been writtenthe Harvard Business School learning cases. In addition, he won the sixth Management Science Award for promoting the supply-side structural reform of the building materials industry with mixed ownership.

Education

In 1979, Song Zhiping graduated from the Chemistry Department of Hebei University. He obtained an MBA from the Wuhan University of Technology in 1995 received his Ph.D. in Engineering Management from Huazhong University of ScienceTechnology in 2002.
